Foreword
Since
beginning of civilisation deep spiritual quest has been a part of
human nature. Over years of questioning and seeking answers to life's
imponderables, the collective wisdom of human mind has discovered
that the spiritual way of living is the way to fulfilment in life.
All can find this fulfilment while remaining fully involved and
engaged in our day to day activities. It is the way life is meant
to be lived.
The
burning problem is the apparent contradiction of ethics and basic
values of spiritual philosophy and the philosophy of the worldly
life we lead. The
solution lies in the clarity in understanding of both the worlds,
testing them with one's Buddhi and Viveka - intelligence and discerning
power - and discovering that the Spiritual way of living is indeed
as practical and as rational as our day to day life truly demands.
Knowledge
per se is of not much use unless it is applied to life and inspire
right living.
This
is possible. A true Yogi is he who constantly translates the spiritual
wisdom into a way of living. This endeavor of remaining all the
time engaged (Yukta) in practical application of the knowledge,
differentiates between human living and animal existence.
This
will be more clear as we go along the current article and other
artcles in the series and try to understand such topics as:
| The
Universal Problem
|
Understanding
the Lord's creation in our perspective |
| Understanding
our own position |
The
Question of continuous development |
| The
Individuality of human birth
|
Our
Work as the determinant to our development |
| Human
Initiative |
The
Role of mind |
| Spiritual
Development for all |
Concept
of Maya |
| Life
and Death, Yoga etc. |
The
Path of Progress |
It
is within the powers of every individual - not requiring too much
effort - to develop a clear understanding and discover for himself
a qualitative transformation.

This Web Page "Ahwan" would periodically
deal with subjects related to spiritual approach to life from
Sri Bimal Mohanty. The underlying idea is to share this universal
knowledge through which many have benefitted.

We have been discussing to start study of UPANISHADS for some time. We have been postponing it for long for the simple reason that with so many enlightening explanations available and classes being undertaken, is there a real need?
Answer was given by a friend from outside India who does not have easy access to such aids. “With anything of such beauty and sblimity, there can be no end to satisfaction in visiting again and again.” The Upanishads contain that beautiful and universal truth.
From September 2010 issue we shall start “Upanishadsara”-the essence of Upanishads- beginning with a preamble and then take up MUNDAKA.
If going through them helps you in a small way to come closer to Sanatan philosophy, that will be the Lord’s wish and our efforts will be rewarded.”
