ATTEMPTS TO DESCRIBE BRAMHAN - Part 14

"Based on the lectures by Sri Bimal Mohanty"

This concept of non-dual existence, the concept of one, is indeed the pinnacle of reasoning the human mind has comprehended.

Some people here put a counter argument. They say: 'Is this then all a mindless machine and we are helpless cogs in the wheel? They somewhat misunderstand and misinterpret that statement made by Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita:

Eeshwarah sarvabhootaanaam hriddeshe’rjuna tisthati;
Bhraamayan sarvabhootaani yantraaroodhaani maayayaa

O Arjuna, the Lord established in the heart of every entity, and by his power of maya, makes everyone go round as if they are mounted on a machine.

The full purport of this sloka, is to be correctly understood. The creation itself is not a chaotic arrangement. So the wheel of creation has to move with a defined principle lest it may disintegrate and jeopardise the very purpose of the Lord. So everything must function obeying the overall conditions laid down by that supreme governor.

As long as one functions in conformity with these laws, he is in peace and happiness. Actions that do not conform, are strongly dealt with by nature.:

How does one understand and work harmoniously with the divine laws? We do this, by using intelligently our body (i.e the sense faculties) and our mind, intellect and ego-self, commonly termed as antahkarana. A developped antahkarana is a unique gift from the Lord to us. This is not only to be used for the sustenance of the creation, but also, it is this antahkarana that is the tool in our hands for performing yoga and speed up our own development and spiritual evolution.

Depending upon the level of quality our mind, intellect and ego-self possess, our quality of yoga performance is fashioned. An enlightened antahkarana ensures a faster upward movement in yoga. We are not mindless entities. We always have two options in front of us. With proper understanding of the divine purpose and requirements in front of us we can take our development to great heights and quickly too. The other option is to make all wrong moves and suffer life after life.

It calls for judgement and for choosing always the right action. To discern between karma, akarma and vikarma, and constantly remain engaged in right karma.

Remember these words from The Bhagavad Gita:

Karmano hyapi boddhavyam boddhavyam cha vikarmanah;
Akarmanashcha boddhavyam…
