TO DESCRIBE BRAMHAN - Part 14 "Based on the lectures by Sri Bimal Mohanty" The right action, the forbidden action and inaction, all need to be understood. And then yogastha kuru karmaani. All such actions which are established in yoga is to be chosen and performed. So our body, mind and intellect should never lose their discerning power and never stray away from the focus. Therefore, if our powerful senses are to be directed precisely and unerringly to their respective and exclusive objectives or focus, then who is that right person who can authoritatively direct us? Who is the right guide? A right guide can only be He, who knows all, all the alternatives, the real character of all things, the total knowledge about the creation. He has to be verily the omniscient - the sarvajnyata. With this all encompassing knowledge, only He can be the real authority over all actions. The Kena Upanishad minces no words and boldly declares: Yat
vaacaa anabhyuditam yena vak abhyudyate Yat
manasaa na manute yena aahuh manah matam Yat
cakhsyusaa na pasyati yena cakshyumsi pasyati
Yat srotrena na srunoti yena srotram idam srutam Yat praanena na praaniti yena praana praniyate Tadeva Bramha tvam viddhi na idam yat idam upaasate. Not that without which the speech is not comprehended, but that by which the speech is revealed. Not that without which the mind is unable to grasp, but that by which the mind is able to comprehend. Not that without which the eyes and ears do not see what they see or do not understand what they hear but by which the eyes and ears become conscious of what they see or hear. Not that without which the life force finds the meaning of living but by which the life breath is led forward to its fulfillment. That is indeed the Bramhan and not all these that we run after. As the Mundaka Upanishad puts it: Yah sarvajnyah sarvavid yasya jnaanamayam tapah- He who is the omniscient, the all-wise, He whose energy or power is all made of knowledge. That is indeed Bramhan. Bramhan is not only the controlling lord of everything, he is also the cause of everything, not only the agents of every action , but also the very actions of all agents. He is also the power by virtue of which the agents are in action. (TO BE CONTINUED) THIS
